Education
Egidio Flamini was born in Lugano (Switzerland) in 1971. He begun his musical studies at a ten years of age, graduating in 1993 with honours at the
F. Morlacchi Conservatory of Perugia under the guidance of Professor Lydia Pastorino.
From 1995 on, he continued perfecting his skills for six years with Argentinian pianist, Aquiles Delle Vigne, first at the International Academy
Musici Artis in Duino (Italy) and then attending numerous Masterclasses on Piano Interpretation in Rome, Bari, Misano, Norcia and Trani.

Postgraduate Diploma in musical disciplines cum laude, with a thesis entitled "IN THE DAY OF MY DEATH GIVE ALL TO FIRE, or the posthumous work of F. Chopin" performing the Waltz Op.69 n.1 and 2, the Mazurkas Op.67 n.2 and 4, Nocturne op. posthumous in C# minor and the Fantasy-Impromptu Op.66.

Live Performances
He has performed as a soloist in England, Germany, Belgium, Austria and major Italian cities (Rome, Turin, Bari, Naples, Rimini, Catania, Trento, Terni, Pistoia and Taranto).

In September 2002 he embarked on a
concert tour in England, where he played within the Howden Festival both as a soloist and with the Canto Ergo Sum Choir of Spoleto.

In June 2006 Egidio
performed in Piazza del Duomo in Spoleto as part of the Vini nel Mondo event (the first White Night of Spoleto) interpreting pieces by Arturo Stlteri, Ludovico Einaudi, Micheal Nyman, Giovanni Allevi and his original works, obtaining great acclaim from the public.

In summer 2009 Egidio participated in a travelling show entitled
Rossobastardolive09 within the framework of Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto and of the Narni Black Festival, emerging as one of the ensemble's most sensitive musicians and winning a Preferred Artist Award.

Between the end of February and beginning of March 2011 he held a
concert tour in Germany, performing in the cities of Heidelberg, Schwetzingen, Walldorf and Volkenroda to noteworthy critical and public acclaim.

Recordings of original works
In April 2007 he released Acquario, his debut album for solo piano, garnering many positive comments, among which those of the authoratity in this field, Maestro Arturo Stlteri "...your music never ceases to move me".
The pieces
Sorgente, Bucaneve and La scatola dei ricordi from Acquario have received play time on Rai International radio and Umbria Radio in Blu; Egidio has been interviewed for TGCOM, MUSICAROUND.NET and other music magazines.
Composer and pianist Arturo Stlteri has included one of the songs from Acquario in his concert programs.

In April 2008 Egidio's
second album, semidigirasole was released to exceptional public and critical acclaim. Many of the tracks in this album have been used for film and video soundtracks: from the film Il maestro di lingue to the documentary on the miner's tragedy of 1955 in Morgnano di Spoleto and others.

In May 2009 his
third studio album was presented: called cose preziose - 24 preludi secondo me pi un finale inevitabile (precious things-24 preludes according to me, plus an inevitable finale), the consensus is that of a profoundly moving and emotional work.

April 30th, 2010 marks the release of his
fourth album entitled La Finestra (the window), a work reflecting on the great themes that have always faced humanity. Presented within a highly successful show created by the artist himself featuring not only the magic of his music but also the power of words and images. This multifaceted work is unanimously recognized as a definitive manifestation of Egidio's compositional maturity.

Appearances
In May 2010 Egidio was a on the RAI International radio programme called Taccuino Italiano during which he spoke of the genesis of the songs in his album La Finestra and executed some of the pieces on live radio.

From June to September 2010 he was
resident artist at Casa Menotti in Spoleto, holding a series of about 50 performances in the music room of the late Maestro Menotti, playing the Maestro's original piano.

Teaching Experience
In August 2010 he held a Crossover Piano Masterclass as part of the Summer College of Festival Federico Cesi, 3rd edition.
Since 2002 Egidio has been teaching piano at
Centro di Formazione Musicale di Belfiore and at Centro Comunale per le Attivit Musicali di Bastia (both in the region of Umbria).
